Current job functions
Installation of SYSMODs, PTFs, APARs, for all system software utilizing
SMP/E release 8.
JES2 system programmer, monitoring SPOOL volumes, modification of all JES2
installation parameters, modification, testing and implementing user exits.
Perform alterations to the I/O configuration, for the use of PR/SM, addition
of new or modified hardware requiring configuration modifications, performance
evaluation for the most effective use of storage and esoteric definitions.
Review to maintain a state-of-the-art computer system, and to identify
hardware that may be discontinued by the vendor and to review replacement
devices.
Security administrator, maintenance of RACF profiles for a secure system,
including addition, deletion, and customization of users, groups, general
resources, and dataset profiles. Create reports to monior RACF utilization,
violations and user authorities.
SDSF administrator, maintenance of the ISFPARMS table for control of which
users users and/or groups can issue commands for sysout datasets, MVS commands
via SDSF.
CA-1 TMS Tape library administrator, which includes monitoring all tape
management functions, including installation, customization, and maintenance
of TMS parameters to maintain objectives set by the EDP personnel and management.
Preparation of reports to show tape usage and locations.
Review MVS reports including SMF, RMF, EREP reports to determine system
constraints between dasd, storage, cpu, and channel paths and for the determination
of appropiate action the relieve the constraint.
Storage administrator, which includes storage management to avoid contention
between devices, space abends, create backup and recovery procedures for
all dasd storage. Monitor migration of datasets and location of user, system,
test, and production datasets, aslo inforce proper naming and blocksizes
to maintain standards and optimize DASD storage.
CICS system programmer, installation and customization of CICS systems,
including CSD maintenance, MACRO table maintenance, evaluation of performance
by monitoring the use of resources, current workloads on a daily, weekly,
and monthly basis using CICS statistics, TMON monitor reports, dasd response,
file response throughput response.
Contact vendor support on system problems, review dumps, and perform alternate
procedures on system problems when applicable. Installation of program
fixes (PTFs, ZAPs, APARs) to avoid or resolve system problems.
Perform modifications to the TSO ISPF/PDF procedures to allow access and
proper execution of all systems accessable via ISPF. Create and modify
system and user CLISTs.
Information Management, planning installation and maintenance of the Information
Management product, this includes RFT creations and modifications, updates
and additions of system and user panels to meet the requirements set by
EDP.
XEROX FSL/JSL programmer, which includes creation and modification of forms
on a XEROX 4050 laser printer, including support to personnel for the proper
use of Dynamic Job Descripor Entries (DJDEs), and perform modifications
to JSLs for proper printing standards.
Give support to the applications, operations, Control assurance, technical
services, and all EDP personnel on software and equiptment installed. Maintain
documentation standards, responsible for training authorized personnel
for the effective utilization of all systems implemented.
Database administrator, which includes DBD, ACB, PSB gens, restoration
of IMS databases when data becomes corrupted, repair of IMS database using
DBTools zap and pointer utilities when data is unrecoverable.
I developed a claims managment system and installed a small Novell network,
which I maintain and support.
